ReplyDeleteWhile I do think its a horrible shame that he hit her…it is NOWHERE near what you first claimed. You stated her eyes were "SWOLLEN SHUT, LIPS RECEIVED STICHES, ETC". This habit you have of over-exaggeration has got to stop. The hype was too much. Yes, he deserves jail, yes he deserves exile from this industry, but her eyes are merely shut from humiliation (I totally understand). But your penchant for exaggerating everything is clear in this photo. He deserves EVERYTHING he gets, but you clearly did not state the truth when referring to her injuries. She has contusions and a bloody lip, nothing more. She does need to kick him to the curb however.

People need to see the actual horror that is violent abuse and let it never happen to them and really understand the seriousness of this crime. Great post. Not only did he always seem like the greatest and sweetest guy around, but they seemed like America's next power couple…the next Brangalina. Always so happy and hot together. It's true that abusive behavior is hereditary though and I might be the first to say this but I feel bad for both of them. It is situations such as these that surround several people daily. I feel for Rihanna and hope her the best recovery.
ReplyDeleteI have a few problems however. Posting this picture was not necessary at all. There has been so much media coverage regarding the situation and her injuries. I feel by posting this picture it has only injured her more. I understand the graveness of this situation and the light it sheds on abusive relationships. I feel it is EXTREMELY important to talk about. However I want to stress that there is no need for the general public to see these photos. They are apart of a criminal investigation that is still on going, not to mention (again) that this is traumatizing for her.
Being a law student I believe the old saying "innocent until proven guilty." DO NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS I do personally believe that he is guilty from the evidence that has been brought forth but I feel like attacking him is not the answer. I feel by locking someone up in jail to 'rot' is not the right solution. We all can agree that he needs help and that is what he should get while in jail. I understand that people are angry and full of hatred towards him, it is human nature. However by attacking, we are only bring ourselves down to his level. Whether physical, emotional or mental it is still an attack!!

It can be tougher than you would think, but I really hope she does. Some good might just come from this - other women in bad situations can see this and perhaps (hopefully) find the strength to get out! ReplyDeleteThe LAPD was/is attempting to try Chris for CRIMINAL THREATS. Criminal Threats and Domestic Battery are NOT the same thing. In fact, Criminal Threats is a much more serious crime. Criminal Threats can NOT be shown visually through an image, but can only be proven by own admission, victim, witnesses, or a recording of the actual threat. So, it makes sense for the D.A. to not necessarily find sufficient evidence for the charge of CRIMINAL THREATS at this point. However, don't misconstrue this with domestic battery, Brown still may be tried for that.

She is lucky in the way that she was able to take pictures and was able to call the police. there are so many cases where someone is unable to contact the police or is non-bruised. If there is no serious bruising and is after the incident the cops usually do nothing besides filing a report.

ReplyDeleteyou know chris has made some good music but after seeing what he did i cant even listen to his voice anymore i feel bad for her and i hope whoever leaked those pics does get fired or arrested cause if i were her i would want privacy in a time like this
ReplyDeletethis pic showed the horrific crime, not mistake. it might hurt rihanna more but it will help her case in public and in court. to be a victim and victimized again and again..to be made fun of, to spread rumors that she has herpes is just brutal..beating any person in public place is just too brazen, most of the domestic abuse happens in close doors that's why it's harder to prove but this is public and i'm so glad somebody called 911 otherwise next thing we know somebody will just discover rihanna's body rotting somewhere,...if chris brown can do this in public he has all the making of a lethal abuser and should not be taken lightly, he needs to pay for his crime without any consideration because he needs to heal his mind and emotions well so that he will be able to control his actions.

But, that picture does not looked photoshopped, and why would Chris Brown apologize if he did not do anything? I feel bad for both of them cause on either side of it two young lives will be changed forever.

ReplyDeleteWell like I have said a thousand times, we do not know under what circumstances he hit her. And honestly we may never know what transpired that night. No one can pass judgement and say that he is wrong. I'm not agreeing that she deserved anyhting like this, matter of fact no one does. But, how can you just automatically say Chris Brown is wrong. We don't know who threw the first lick and all this under any circumstances should no one be beaten is in a fantasy world. Sorry to say but it is. Any initial human reaction is to fight back and those who have experienced domestic violence in their lives are known to be more aggressive and violent when a fight occurs. They get into a state of mind that's indescribable. I'm not pro beating women but, I'm being honest. As a woman I know how we operate and am not afraid to say so. When women go through domestic violence, and know they have support behind them, they are quick to tell what happened. Rihanna still has not said what has happened and the DA still has no case against him due to lack of evidence. Don't you think that if she was right in this whole ordeal that she would have said so by now and there would be a solid case to convict him? Let's be for real we women are not afraid to say what happened and put someone away for things like this. He made a public apology and all she said was that she was not buying it. Now if the shoe were on the other foot and Chris Brown was the one who was beaten, then what would anyone have to say. Nothing, everyone would laugh at his ass and say, "MAN UP" See but, no one thinks like that. Chris Brown would have no support by anyone and it would be an open and shut case. That kind of case would never make it to the DA's office. Think about that before you pass judgement.
ReplyDeletethink it is completely wrong in every way what Chris brown did. Im tired of people saying that he made a mistake. A man hitting a woman is not a mistake its a crime. There is no possible way that what Chris did can be justified. People are saying that Rihanna deserved the beating she got and that she shold not have provoked Chris. People, it does not matter. No one (man or women) deserves to be beaten. An arguement should never escalate to violence no matter what the circumstances are. I hope that this incident opens up alot of peoples eyes and maybe motivate anyone in an abusive relationship to stand up for themselves. And I hope that Chris Brown go to prison for this. If he doesnt that basically is telling the world that domestic violence is okay and things like this will just keep happening.
