The undisputed master soul singer gets back to his smoldering, bedroom-eyed roots with a band that recaptures the offhandedly passionate sound of his Seventies peak. I have always been a huge fan of his work but this CD has to be one of my favorite discoveries of the year next to Raphael Saadiq and Robyn.
