ReplyDeleteYes!! I am so glad this didn't suck! I was a little wary as I didn't really dig Gwen's solo stuff, and No Doubts last couple albums were eh... this reminds me of the No Doubt I loved when I was growing up!!!!

I am a recent fan of GG - i was fighting the trend for a long time then decided to scope out season 1 on netflix and well, i am slighty HOOKED (aka. obsessed!) LOL ...This is off the hook!!! i cannot wait to see them on Gossip Girl!!! I am jumping outta my skin right now!!! WOOHOO!!! I'm 26 and feel like a teenager right now - i am so freakin excited!!!

ReplyDeleteHmmm really don't knbow what to make of this. It's all a bit too polished and lacking the depth of production the original had. Will probably learn to like it eventually - perhaps once it's been played full whack at Ant Pride on 9th May!!

ReplyDeleteDoesn’t speak well when a veteran group comes back and the first single they release is a cover.
ReplyDeleteGot nothing against covers in general. Just seems a bit lazy when another group releases it and goes through “Single Promotion” to sell that song as their own instead of a track at the back end of an album.
The verse where Gwen does the spoken word bit reminds me of that GNR song “The Garden,” where Izzy (or Duff?) is growling out those vocals. I can’t say I like this.

personally think it strikes a chord with their old school sound, and makes me even more excited for the new album, whenever it finally comes out! AND I can’t wait to hear this song live in Philly and Seattle!

Actually, when No Doubt decided to do a cover it was between this song and ” Its my life”. They went with Its my life which was awesome… and decided recently to go ahead and release this too. This definately will not be my favorite, But I think they did a good job. Cant wait for Aug 1st!!!!
